Unable to secure himself a move away from Tottenham in the summer, Bryan Gil stayed put for the first half of the season.
Antonio Conte, however, didn’t really use him, leaving him with just 74 minutes in all competitions (just six minutes in the Premier League) under his belt before the World Cup.
Over in Spain, a few clubs would be interested in having the winger in their ranks, among which we can find Sevilla, who are set to have a busy January.
They need a fair bit of work, and Mucho Deporte report that while they are keen on the Tottenham man, he isn’t their priority either.
Much like Lucas Ocampos, who is currently on loan at Ajax, the Spurs man fits what they are looking for, but more pressing areas need to be addressed first.
They need to sort out what is going on through the middle of the pitch, with the defence, midfield and central attack all areas that need work.
Still, Sevilla ‘contemplate’ both Gil and Ocampos, but it’s pointed out ‘there is no money’ to get anything done at the moment, suggesting that even a loan would be tough right now.
When talking about the Tottenham man, they add ‘there is no doubt’ that he is ‘more electric than most of the wide players in the squad’, but for now he ‘will wait’.
As said above, January ‘will be very long’ for Sevilla, and it seems that depending on what happens, a move for the Spurs man could be on the cards; just not straight away.
