The Brazilian media today shares interesting news on the battle for Southampton defender Lyanco.
ESPN Brasil reports that Vasco da Gama, who were very much interested in the player, are now being left behind in the race for his signing.
The reason for it is that Turkish side Besiktas reportedly ‘increased their proposal’ for Lyanco, and now wait for Southampton’s response.
The story claims this answer should take place today (Wednesday).
The only offer Vasco had placed for Lyanco was turned down by the Saints, and despite the promise for a second attempt, it seems that didn’t happen.
Besiktas had also made a first attempt and this second is the one with the chances of being successful.
ESPN adds that Southampton want to use all the time left in the transfer window to think about the future of most players in the squad.
Regarding Lyanco, it seems they already made a decision, as they’re ruling out a loan and will only accept an offer for a permanent move. Now we shall see if Besiktas’ offer was enough.
