Earlier today, we carried a report from De Telegraaf, who explained Norwich City have registered their interest in Sven Botman.
It was also explained the Canaries wanted to take the 19-year-old ‘immediately’ in the winter transfer window. He is currently on loan at Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen from Ajax.
The centre-back has featured regularly for Heerenveen and has contributed to six goals (two goals + four assists) in the league. The Premier League club’s interest in acquiring the teenager’s services has also been reported by Votebal International.
VI explains Norwich’s desire to sign the Dutchman has resulted in a ‘dilemma’ at Ajax. They are not sure if they plan to retain Botman or sell him in January.
Should they opt in to cash in, Ajax will then have to compensate Heerenveen because they had agreed a season-long loan deal last summer.
Meanwhile, Heerenveen technical director Gerry Hamstra has responded to reports of Norwich’s interest in Botman.
“We have a contract for a year. Furthermore, I can’t say anything about it,” Hamstra told Leeuwarder Courant.
