Having returned from a loan spell at Norwich City last summer, Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams was forced to miss the start of this season due to injury.

Since regaining full fitness towards the end of last year, the 22-year-old has struggled for game time and has been restricted to only one appearance this season, which was in their EFL Cup win over Burnley in December.

Despite the current situation at Manchester United, the fullback continues to be of interest in the market. That’s at least what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting and they name Fiorentina as his ‘new’ suitor.

The Serie A side have identified the defender as a new left-back target and would want to take him on a loan deal with an option to buy set at €5m.

The player’s deal expires in 2024, with an option to extend it for a year. TMW state Erik ten Hag’s side will extend his deal first before sending him out on loan in the summer.

Williams, who can also operate as a right-back, earns €1m per year at Manchester United. There’s no mention if Fiorentina would take care of his full or part of his wages during the loan stay.

A permanent transfer at around €5m or more is surely possible for Manchester United, and would be useful cash for the club rather than another loan.
