AC Milan are hoping that either Crystal Palace or West Ham will make a move for Divock Origi this summer as they want rid of him ‘quickly’.
That’s according to Le Soir, who say the Serie A side want to get rid of the Belgian after a miserable first year at the club.
Origi arrived at Milan on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, with the Italian side believing they were getting something of a bargain following his time at Anfield.
That has not proven to be the case, though, with injuries limiting his game time so far and Origi failing to impress when given his chance.
He was booed off of the pitch recently when brought off as a substitute, with Milan fans unimpressed by what they’ve seen so far.
The newspaper says Origi ‘moves in slow motion’ and ‘out of time’, with Serie A only seeing a striker who is ‘ghostly’ when he doesn’t have the ball and clumsy when he does.
Thus, Milan would like to get rid of him, particularly as he is on €4m a year, and they ‘hope’ that a Premier League club, either Crystal Palace or West Ham, will make a bid soon so they can get rid of the striker ‘quickly’.
Both of those clubs are likely to be on the hunt for a forward this summer, with Crystal Palace continuing to struggle for goals (recent 5-1 win aside) and West Ham likely to be moving on from Gianluca Scamacca after his disappointing first year at the London Stadium.
Whether either side does make a move remains to be seen but it seems their interest has been registered by Milan, who are hoping that it will turn into a firm bid.
