Galatasaray are eyeing up a move for Coventry City defender Milan van Ewijk in the January transfer window.

That’s according to Soccer News, who report that the Turkish side would like to bright the full-back to Istanbul this month.

According to their information, Coventry and Galatasaray are now negotiating a transfer fee for the former SC Heerenveen and ADO Den Haag defender. This, though, is being done in ‘complete secrecy’ at this moment in time.

Van Ewijk has been informed about the interest from the Turkish side and will personally enter into negotiations if Galatasaray and Coventry can agree upon a transfer fee.

Van Ewijk had been linked with a move away from the Championship side in the summer when Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven were both keen, but the Sky Blues blocked his exit at that point in time.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for Coventry again this season and has one goal and one assist in 27 games in all competitions to date but could be offered a big step up by Galatasaray, who currently lead the table in Turkey by eight points.

They will need to agree a deal with Coventry first, but talks are very much taking place on that front at the beginning of this month.
