It seems Saudi Arabia may not be David De Gea’s only way out of Manchester United this summer.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce are also interested in the 32-year-old.
The outlet explains there’s a ‘goalkeeper operation’ taking place ‘at full speed’ at the Istanbul side, and De Gea is one of the targets.
Fenerbahce are reportedly having this week a meeting with the goalkeeper’s agent, as his contract with Manchester United has just expired and he can be signed for free.
The Turkish side will then present the offer they prepared for him, and in case they do not succeed, they’d go for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp.
The future of David De Gea remains a mystery, as not even a potential stay at Manchester United is ruled out yet.
The goalkeeper has been heavily linked to a move to Saudi side Al Nassr, and Fenerbahce could end up offering him a chance of staying in European football if he doesn’t sign a new deal with Manchester United.
A lot should depend on what the Istanbul club will be putting on the table once they have this meeting with his entourage.
