Andrew Omobamidele is on the verge of leaving Nottingham Forest, according to a report from France.

The defender was left out of Nuno Espírito Santo’s core plans this season. He also picked up an injury in October and that kept him on the sidelines until December, and these two factors have restricted his appearances this season.

He’s been limited to only one appearance for Nottingham Forest, and that came in their EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle United in August.

L’Equipe explain Omobamidele’s immediate future will be at RC Strasbourg as he’s set to join them in the winter market.

It’s claimed the Ligue 1 side have ‘reached an agreement’ with the Reds for the defender’s transfer in the winter market.

L’Equipe doesn’t specify if the agreement is for a loan deal or a permanent transfer. They add the player has already travelled to France to carry out the transfer process before signing his contract with Strasbourg.

Omobamidele’s move to France is advanced and it sounds like an official announcement should follow soon. Loubadhe Abakar Sylla will leave Strasbourg, and his exit will coincide with the Republic of Ireland international’s arrival.
