Diego Carlos has not quite been a regular in Aston Villa’s starting eleven this season.
The defender has played a limited number of minutes in the Premier League and has featured in only ten games so far.
He hasn’t appeared in the past two games for Aston Villa and it seems as if he’s perhaps played his last game for the club already.
SportsDigitale journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported Fenerbahce have ‘reached an agreement to sign the 31-year-old Brazilian, with more details about the move yet to fully emerge.
This comes after the centre-back was heavily linked with a move to Fenerbahce’s rivals Galatasaray. There was a suggestion that he was seen as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain’s Milan Skriniar by Gala, when it had emerged that Fener were pushing to sign the Slovakian centre-back this month.
This is now a fresh twist in the saga, with the defender expected to join Jose Mourinho’s side instead.
Diego Carlos has been at Aston Villa since the summer of 2022, when he joined the club from Sevilla. Since then, he has played 58 times in all competitions.
