Lazio have ‘emerged victorious’ from negotiations with Chelsea and are now set to sign Cesare Casadei from the Blues.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who report that an ‘almost exhausting negotiation’ between the two sides has now ended in a positive conclusion.

They report that Lazio are set to bring Casadei back to Italy before the end of the transfer window, with the player out of Chelsea’s plans under Enzo Maresca.

The last effort from Lazio proved to be the decisive one and Chelsea’s resistance has now fallen away.

Citing information from journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the two sides have now agreed on a permanent transfer worth €10-13m between a fixed part and bonuses. The deal will also include a future resale percentage for Chelsea worth 25-30%.

Lazio had been edging towards such a package for a while, with their last offer touching €10m win bonuses before this latest bid. They and Chelsea will now spend the next few hours to work on defining the last details of the operation.

The Italian side need to work on at least one outgoing operation before they can conclude the deal for Casadei. They have several names on their list on that front and it seems there is now confidence they can get the deal for Casadei over the line.
