West Ham United’s Nikola Vlašić has been out on loan at Torino since last summer and the Italian club have a buying option set at €15m.
The 25-year-old impressed in the first half of this season and that resulted in reports stating the Serie A side would make his stay permanent. That no longer seems to be the case. Two days ago, La Repubblica stated Torino will ‘hardly exercise’ the clause to buy him.
Toro News don’t rule out the Turin club retaining the West Ham owned player beyond this season, as long as certain conditions are fulfilled.
The attacking midfielder’s recent displays haven’t been convincing and this has aroused ‘some doubts’ within the club over exercising the buying option.
Torino president Urbano Cairo and their sporting director, Davide Vagnati, will carefully analyse Vlašić’s performances before deciding to buy him.
In other words, Torino’s remaining fixtures this season will be ‘decisive for deciding’ the former Everton man’s future. Should they decide to buy the West Ham man, Torino must be wary about the ‘deadline’. It’s claimed the redemption option will expire on June 1st.
Vlašić has less than two months to convince Torino, if he wants to play for them next season. If he fails, the Croatian will return to West Ham.
