Sevilla have ‘greatly lowered’ their demands for defender Marcos Acuña, providing Aston Villa with the perfect opportunity to get their summer target.
That’s according to AS, who say the Argentine remains out of the plans at the Spanish club and therefore an easier signing than he once was.
They explain that the defender was one of the great novelties of Sevilla training this week, returning after a muscle relapse have prevented him from playing at the beginning of the year.
Indeed, he’s barely featured this year because of injuries after a summer that saw him heavily linked with a move away and to Aston Villa in particular.
That move was blocked as Sevilla asked for too much money to sanction his exit, largely because it was Monchi who was asking, and no agreement was found.
They’ve now changed their stance, though, and ‘greatly lowered’ their financial demands for the defender and so there may be a deal there to be done for Aston Villa if they remain interested.
At the moment no firm offers have arrived but there is a belief that interest could be revived at the end of the month, perhaps even from Villa Park given their efforts in the summer.
