Watford youngster Kwadwo Baah will see his loan deal at Fortuna Dusseldorf ended prematurely in January, if the Hornets can find a new club for him.
That’s according to BILD, who cover the player today and the potential end to his unsuccessful loan spell in Germany.
We’ve covered a couple of reports regarding Baah’s situation in recent weeks, with it explained that his loan has basically been a disaster and could be cut short.
BILD pick up on that today and say that while Baah was once seen as a ‘coup’ for Fortuna, they have now ‘given up hope’ on getting anything positive from him.
Baah never made an appearance for the club in the first half of the season and now doesn’t fit into the concept being put in place at all.
The German side want to ‘pull the emergency brake’ on his deal and should Watford agree and find another club for him, his current loan deal will be terminated immediately.
Fortuna have accepted they were ‘completely wrong’ about Baah, having avoided paying a loan fee but negotiating an ‘extremely high’ purchase option with Watford that was out of the question from the start.
Those responsible for that deal no longer have to worry about needing to pay that fee, but they need to get rid because the club can’t make any signings in January.
Thus, they’re hoping that Watford can find another suitor for Baah so they can ship him out post haste and put this very unsuccessful loan spell behind them.
