Two days ago, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso’s entourage admitted they are in talks with Napoli over a potential deal this summer.
Italian journalist Ciro Venerato told Tgr Rai, relayed by Tutto Napoli, that the Serie A winners have decided to end their chase for the 27-year-old.
“There aren’t the conditions to carry on the negotiation, which is why Napoli are ready to give up on the Argentine,” he said.
That’s because Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wanted to sign the midfielder on a loan deal and this was the only solution he was looking for.
Venerato adds Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wasn’t in favour of this. Therefore, the Naples club have to give up on the Argentine and will have to look for another target in the market.
Real Betis are also interested in Lo Celso. Earlier today, ABC Sevilla reported they have already informed Ange Postecoglou’s side about their desire to sign him on loan.
It was also stated Tottenham want €25m and are ready to sanction a permanent sale or a loan with an obligation to buy.
