Hellas Verona ‘could give in’ to a €10m offer from Aston Villa for Cyril Ngonge, even after setting their initial demands at €15m.
That’s according to Verona Sera, who cover the Italian side and how many of their players seem determined to leave this month.
Verona find themselves facing bids for several of their stars, including Ngonge, who is being targeted by Fiorentina, Bologna and Aston Villa.
The latter have been pushing for a deal over the last few days and earlier today a report claimed that he would end up at Villa Park, so long as they offered the €15m asking price for him.
There was a growing belief in Italy that Aston Villa would get him at some point and Verona Sera back that up somewhat, stating that they have offered €10m and the Venetian club ‘could also give in to the offer’ despite making it clear they’d like no less than €15m.
Why that is the case isn’t made clear, but they do add that the club first needs to know the intentions of the player before proceeding.
According to them Ngonge ‘would like to stay in Italy’ at this point so it seems Aston Villa have some work to do on that front also.
The good news is the idea that Hellas Verona may now be willing to accept less than their original demands, which means Aston Villa may at least be one step closer to getting their man in that respect.
