Botafogo have made an offer to sign Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri, according to multiple claims from Brazil.
Journalist Thiago Franklin first reported about their interest in the winger, while GOAL Brasil relayed his claim and provided more updates on this case.
The Brazilian club have ‘formalised a loan offer’ that will include an option to buy for a fixed fee. They want Manchester United to pay part of his salary during his temporary stay with them.
Eduardo Lasalvia, the Uruguay international’s agent, is in Manchester negotiating with the Premier League side’s officials to get his client out of Old Trafford this month.
GOAL’s claim is echoed by Globo Esporte, who further add the South American side made this offer to Manchester United on Tuesday.
The player wants to leave in January. The negotiations won’t be easy, but Botafogo are betting on Pellistri’s willingness to get a move to find a positive outcome.
The right-wing position is not a priority for Botafogo, but they view the Uruguayan as a ‘great market opportunity’.
Botafogo made an offer on the same day Pellistri made his debut for Manchester United, a club he joined in 2020. He came off the bench and registered an assist in his side’s 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
Erik ten Hag was impressed by the winger’s cameo and admitted he sees a future for him at Manchester United.
