As Real Betis insist on signing Pablo Fornals from West Ham United, Seville newspaper ABC brings some fresh news on that pursuit.
It’s first recalled that the Hammers rejected the La Liga side’s first proposal. While the London club demanded an €8m fee for the sale, the bid on the table was for a loan with an option to buy for a price nowhere near that.
ABC then says that Betis ‘have been forced’ to increase their bid, and after waiting for a few days, they now raised the offer. The numbers are now believed to be closer to West Ham’s requests.
The story sounds very confident that Fornals himself wants the move, as he ‘expressed his desire’ to join the La Liga side. It’s said his effort to make that happen has been important, especially because he’s accepting a pay cut to complete the transfer.
The numbers offered by Betis are not detailed, although it’s made clear they’re now closer to a deal with West Ham. We shall now see whether this new offer will be enough, or if they’ll still have to put a little more money on the table.
