Spanish side Cádiz have opened negotiations with Celtic for striker Georgios Giakoumakis as they look to sign two strikers this month.
That’s according to El Desmarque, who say the two sides are in ‘firm negotiations’ about a deal for the Greek forward, who has made 28 appearances under Ange Postecoglou this season.
They explain that Cádiz need to bring in at least one, but preferably two, strikers this month and are ‘working on it’ before the window closes.
The club are looking at several options and one of them is Celtic forward Giakoumakis, with negotiations now opened.
Cádiz are not the only side interested in him and Giakoumakis is ‘handling other offers’ at this moment in time.
He is considered as a ‘powerful striker’ who is ‘good in space’ and has the added bonus of Champions League experience.
He also isn’t getting much playing time at Celtic Park at present and thus a move away is being considered this month.
Cádiz have ‘made contact’ with Celtic over a deal and have been in touch with the player as well and he has made it clear he would like a move to Spain.
It remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached in the next few days but he is a player who is on Cádiz’s list as they look to add forwards this month.
