With Bayern Munich still looking for a new goalkeeper, it seems they’ve now turned their attentions towards Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg is the one bringing the information, claiming the Bundesliga side have ‘submitted an official offer’ for the transfer.
Bayern Munich reportedly placed on Chelsea’s table a bid for a year-long loan deal, with an option to buy next summer.
For now, there’s no information on how much this purchase clause is worth, or if the Blues are accepting the offer.
Despite the departure of Edouard Mendy to Al-Ahli this summer, Chelsea have already signed a replacement for him, with the arrival of Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion on a €23m deal.
That means there’s a good chance Kepa would continue to sit on the bench this season, and Bayern Munich clearly saw that as an opportunity to get him on a loan deal.
The goalkeeper, who joined the Blues on a record €80m transfer in 2018, still has a contract with Chelsea running until 2025, and is now valued by Transfermarkt at €18m.
