The Spanish media now sounds very confident that Real Betis are signing Adrián San Miguel from Liverpool.
Newspaper ABC today writes that the La Liga side are currently ‘finalising’ a deal for the goalkeeper, whose contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season.
According to the story, Liverpool have tried to keep Adrián, having offered him a new deal, but had no success.
It’s said that Betis agreed with the player to a one-year contract, with a salary that fits their financial conditions. The extra factor to attract him there is that he’ll continue to work at the club once he retires.
The Spanish club are losing Claudio Bravo, who’s walking out as a free agent, and Adrián is now set to compete against the other younger goalkeepers for a place in the team.
The Spaniard may not have played a lot in these five years at Liverpool, but it’s said that all the contacts he made in the Premier League will be appreciated as soon as he takes another position at Betis once he retires.
