Luis Diaz’s transfer from FC Porto to Liverpool is turning into a legal battle, according to claims from Portugal.

Newspaper A Bola today writes that the winger’s former club, Junior Barranquilla, have filed a complaint to FIFA against the Dragons.

The Colombian side believe they were due 20% of Diaz’s economic rights. So once Liverpool signed Diaz from Porto, that percentage was supposed to go to South America.

A Bola writes that the Reds have already paid €15m for the transfer, which was agreed for a total of €45m plus €15m in bonuses. So Junior Barranquilla were expecting to get €3m, which has not happened yet.

It’s said Junior Barranquilla hired Swiss company MS International Law to take care of the case, as they already have experience with this kind of issue.

Since Liverpool seem to be correctly paying for Diaz’s transfer, the Reds don’t have any guilt in this case, as it’s Porto who were supposed to be sending money to the Colombian side.

This week, the Portuguese media featured a report detailing the performance bonuses agreed between the Dragons and the Anfield side, claiming that those clauses will only be activated from the start of next season.
