Barcelona are eyeing up Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz as they search for a high-level winger this summer.
That’s according to Catalunya Radio, relayed by Sport, who say the Reds duo are on Barcelona’s list of possible targets.
They explain that Barcelona, despite their financial issues, are ‘evaluating the possibility’ of signing a ‘top level left winger’ for their squad this summer.
Their intention is to add a top forward so they can challenge on all fronts next season and some names have ‘already been put on the table’.
Manager Xavi wants to create an ‘imbalance’ on the left and find a player who fits in with their idea of the game but can also add goals to the teams.
That’s only capable if they sign one of the world stars and two of the profiles that they would like are at Liverpool, namely Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah.
Either of those would provide a huge leap in quality butt would be difficult to secure because of the salary limit put on the club by La Liga.
However, Barcelona managed to get past that and sign Robert Lewandowski last season and they would like to repeat that operation with the signing of a left-winger this year.
Thus the Liverpool duo are on their list, although the inclusion of Salah is interesting given he’s only played 19 games as a left winger in his career to date compared to 375 on the opposite side.
