Over the course of the January transfer window, AC Milan were linked with a move for Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
At the time, the defender wasn’t playing a lot under Mauricio Pochettino because of injuries, but that has changed of late, as the 24-year-old has started the last two league games for the Blues.
Whether that continues going forward remains to be seen, but Milan are still interested in the Chelsea centre-back, as explained by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A side are going to need to recruit a new defender in the summer, and there is a chance the former England U21 international becomes a serious target for them.
It’s said the club are trying to ‘frame their first targets’, before recalling that previous deals involving Chelsea players have worked out for Milan in the past.
Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic are good examples of that (they seem to have purposefully forgotten about Tiemoue Bakayoko), but they also point out that Pochettino now seems to be a fan of Chalobah.
Still, his value today is said to be around €10-15m, making him affordable for Milan, although that seems awfully low considering he is now being used and Chelsea will want to make as much possible from sales this summer.
