Inter Milan are eyeing a move for Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, with the Gunners pushing to sign Riccardo Calafiori and potentially opening up an opportunity to sign him.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Inter News, who say the Italians are looking for a deputy for Alessandro Bastoni and Kiwior could be it.
The newspaper explains that Inter had been targeting Genoa’s Johan Vasquez, but it has been made clear to them that he won’t be sold, and that deal isn’t going to happen.
Thus, they’re looking at other options and they ‘continue to think’ about a loan deal for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.
They’ve put the Polish defender on a list of possible targets this summer but will take their time on potentially making a move for him. A final decision has not been made and there is no rush from the club to secure the new defender they want.
Perhaps they are waiting to see what comes of Arsenal’s long and drawn-out pursuit of Calafiori, which appears to now be progressing towards a positive conclusion.
His arrival would leave Arsenal free to let Kiwior go, although it’s hard to see them accepting a loan deal if they spend big on Calafiori this summer.
Either way, Inter are willing to wait and see what happens, putting Kiwior on their list of options as they look for a central defender.
