Prior to the January transfer window, the Brazilian media many times claimed Fulham and West Ham United were both interested in São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.
The Brazilian club had been doing their best to keep the player at the time, and it was even reported they believed he’d be worth much more in the summer.
Today, journalist André Hernan shares some news about Maia, and Fulham and West Ham should now have a new chance to sign the 21-year-old.
The reporter claims that despite the new contract he’s signed, São Paulo actually expect to sell him in the next transfer window.
The club are said to be in need of money and see Maia as their main possibility of a big sale.
Hernan mentions that West Ham tried to sign the midfielder in January on a loan deal, and Fulham’s bid wasn’t good enough.
There’s no mention whether these clubs would be back for him. Still, it’s claimed that he’s very well evaluated by Premier League clubs, so that remains being the most likely destination for him.
