Four days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Chelsea are in an ‘endless quarrel’ with Romelu Lukaku as they try to get rid of him permanently.
The striker was on loan at Inter Milan last season and wants to return to the San Siro in the summer window. Gazzetta had earlier stated the Serie A side cannot meet the €40m requested by the Blues.
Sky Italia now state Simone Inzaghi’s side have a new idea to please Chelsea to let go of the 30-year-old.
It’s said the Nerazzurri are ‘expected’ to make new contacts with the Premier League side in the next few days to bring the Belgium international back to the club.
According to Sky, the Champions League finalist’s plan is to propose a loan deal with an obligation to buy set at €30m. The report states they want to pay the fee over ‘several years’.
Inter are of the belief this solution ‘could convince’ Chelsea to sanction Lukaku’s transfer in this window, and whether that would be the case remains to be seen.
Last season, Lukaku managed 14 goals and seven assists from 47 games at Inter.
