Cercle Brugge are expecting Kévin Denkey to leave them before the summer window ends, with the number of clubs credited with interest only growing.
Ipswich Town have now been added to the mix, and given the finances on offer in the Premier League there’s obviously the belief the newly promoted side could pay what is required.
The 23-year-old striker has played nine games already this season, scoring three goals and adding two assists. During the last campaign he scored 28 goals in 39 matches, so there’s a reason he’s the subject of transfer interest.
Het Nieuwsblad state his sale has been more difficult than expected. Lille, Real Sociedad and Bayer Leverkusen were credited with interest earlier in the summer but none of those came forward with an offer for Cercle Brugge.
The Belgian club are said to want €15m as a minimum for their striker and whilst they’d prefer €20m or something close to that, reality is suggesting otherwise.
Pieter-Jan Calcoen reports on Ipswich Town interest, and says Cercle don’t expect the player to stay.
