Throughout Ayoze Perez’s time at Newcastle United there were endless, seemingly encouraged, transfer rumours in the Spanish media about interest from La Liga clubs.
The player had spoken on multiple occasions about a desire to return to Spain, and he thought it could help his chances with the Spanish national team.
In the end, Perez signed for Leicester City instead, yet he’s still been the subject of many rumours relating to a La Liga transfer.
At 29-years-of-age and with a Foxes contract expiring in the summer, the time looks right for that move to happen.
Perez has been a bit part player for Brendan Rodgers so far this season, and is yet to score a goal in the Premier League.
Marca report Real Betis are very interested, and manager Manuel Pellegrini wants the forward for the second half of the season.
It’s stated Betis have ‘everything agreed’ with the player, but there’s no indication of what they’ve arranged with Leicester City.
Regardless, before going through with such a signing, Betis need to get some players off their wage bill… and time is running out.
