Feyenoord are holding talks with Brighton and Hove Albion over a loan deal for Facundo Buonanotte as they seek a replacement for Yankuba Minteh.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who report that the two sides are in ‘discussions’ about Buonanotte this summer.
They explain that after selling off several players, Feyenoord are now entering the market for reinforcements and have ‘come forward most concretely’ for the Brighton man.
Feyenoord have already done business with the Seagulls earlier this month, selling midfielder Mats Wieffer to them for around €30m, so there is a relationship there to be used to their advantage.
Brighton want to move some players on after strengthening themselves, including a deal for former Feyenoord man Minteh, and Buonanotte is one of those who could be allowed to depart.
He is considered a ‘concrete candidate’ for the Dutch side, who have been presented with an option to rent him for this season. Negotiations could see a purchase option being added on top of that.
The Rotterdam side have been in talks with Brighton ‘for days’ over a deal and Buonanotte is seen as a direct replacement for Minteh, as well as someone who could add in the attacking midfield department.
They can offer the youngster Champions League football, or at least eight games in the first rounds, and that is something which could tempt the 19-year-old into the move.
A loan offer has been put on the table and is now being discussed between the two clubs, although there is certainly a tone from 1908 that suggests the Dutch believe a deal can and will be struck.
