Last week, we praised Tuttosport for a very good story they had on West Ham’s chase for the Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
The newspaper had some insistence saying the Hammers’ interest in the player was ‘not a joke’, claiming the London side would have to offer at least €60m to get the Italian star.
Now as club director Gianluca Petrachi has spoken to the local media over the weekend, he’s revealed that a certain club are pretty keen on signing Belotti.
However, he claims that Torino are sticking to the plan of not selling their stars, as they are looking forward to improving the squad by signing the right pieces.
“If we had wanted we would have been able to go on in in talks for a transfer,” Petrachi told the press (via Tuttosport). “Because Belotti was the target of a team that I do not want to reveal and that had offered important money, but the president stopped every talk.”
Although Petrachi hasn’t revealed the club’s name, Tuttosport are pretty sure that it’s West Ham who made the offer. They claim the Hammers were ready to pay €40m-€45m for the player to replace Marko Arnautovic at the club, but will end up empty handed due to Torino’s plans.
And Arnautovic is of course staying anyway.
