Napoli are keen on a move for Tottenham midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, with an almost triple attraction coming from the Italian side.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the club, their directors and manager are all keen on signing the Tottenham player.
The newspaper report that Antonio Conte is drawing up a list of targets for the summer as he plans a major rebuild of the squad that includes central midfield.
One of the big issues he may have to resolve is the departure of Franck Zambo Anguissa, who is being targeted by Al-Nassr and could depart, leaving a huge hole in Napoli’s midfield.
They’re looking at options to replace him as a result and Hojbjerg is currently on director of football Giovanni Manna’s list of targets to fill in the position if that eventuality comes about.
He likes the 28-year-old, as does Conte, who worked alongside him at Tottenham. Thus, there is a ‘triple convergence of satisfaction’ for him. Napoli want him, Manna wants him, and Conte wants him too.
That doesn’t mean a deal will be done or they’re even actively exploring it at this moment in time, but the idea is certainly there and with three big ticks of approval, could very well happen this summer.
