Austrian side FC Juniors OÖ have announced on Thursday the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Flávio Cristóvão.
The second division side managed to get the 22-year-old in the last days of the transfer window, and it took a few days until they’ve revealed it to the local media.
Club director Fabian Zöpfl has spoken to the press today, and claimed it was a market opportunity to sign the player from Wolves.
“Shortly before the transfer ended, there was a chance to sign Flavio. We are glad that we were able to take advantage of this opportunity. The player has enormous potential and can certainly help us,” said Fabian Zopfl (via LAOLA1).
Wolves signed Flávio Cristóvão on a free move from Portuguese side Desportivo Aves last summer. He joined the club’s U23 level, and even ended up making an appearance for the first team in the League Cup.
Now it seems he moves for free once again, being one of the many Portuguese players who come and go from Wolves in the past few years.
He’s signed a one-year contract with the Austrian side.
