There was a small controversy about Andreas Pereira’s departure from Manchester United this summer, when the player was loaned to Spanish side Valencia.
Manager José Mourinho made it clear that he wanted the midfielder to stay, but due to his little game time at the start of the season, the 21-year-old chose to go instead.
The boss later revealed that there was a clause that would allow Manchester United to bring the player back in January, and afterwards, Pereira himself spoke to the Spanish press saying he knew nothing about it.
“I would not have made comments, but as the other club has done, I say that it is true that there is the option to recall him in conditions that I will keep confidential, but there is a compensation for Valencia”, Alemany said (via El Desmarque).
Since joining Valencia in the last days of the transfer window, Andreas Pereira has made four appearances for the Spanish side, with a total of 162 minutes played. The midfielder even was a starter in his first two La Liga games for the club, but was brought on as a sub in the other two.
