At the end of the last week, reports from Brazil claimed Premier League side Everton were preparing a bid for Grêmio star Everton Cebolinha.

It was said Carlo Ancelotti had spoken to the player, and the Toffees would be offering €35m to take him to England.

There hasn’t been any updates since then, and now Grêmio have finally spoken out on the player’s situation.

Interviewed by Correio do Povo, the club’s executive director Klauss Câmara has claimed that no bids have arrived to the Brazilian club so far.

“Everton at Everton is a situation that is coming up more intensely,” Klauss Câmera told Gazeta do Povo. “But there’s no presented offer. In recent months, he’s been linked to several giants in Europe, but nothing concrete.”

Another factor that gave the rumour a boost at the weekend was a comment on Instagram made by Everton star Richarlison.

The striker first posted the goal he’s scored against Brighton. Everton Cebolinha commented, calling his national teammate a ‘craque’ (a very good player), and Richarlison replied saying ‘we’re waiting for you’.
