Back in the January transfer window, we covered several stories from the Brazilian media which said Nottingham Forest were in negotiations for Santos wonderkid Angelo.
The 18-year-old, who was also wanted by Flamengo, ended up staying at Vila Belmiro, but the club may now regret not having sold him back then.
UOL now features a piece claiming Santos are living a ‘dilemma’ with Angelo. That’s because he’s having a poor season, and they don’t know whether to keep him in the starting team or send him to the bench, where he’d feel less pressure and try to recover the good form.
Now regarding his future, the website starts by recalling that when the subject of negotiations between Flamengo and Nottingham Forest, the winger chose to stay at his club.
The teenager, however, is now open to an exit in the summer, just like Santos. And since he’s now represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, he’s expected to receive ‘good offers’ from Europe.
Angelo’s current season certainly doesn’t encourage many suitors, but he’s undoubtedly a youngster with potential who may become a star. So if Nottingham Forest are still keen on that signing, a great opportunity should show up in the coming months.
