Everton will have to focus on strengthening their attack in the summer after failing to sign a new forward in the winter market.
The Toffees made an offer to sign Beto but it was turned down by Udinese. He continues to be a target for the Merseyside club, along with Atalanta’s Duván Zapata.
That’s according to Tutto Atalanta, who say Udinese are now ‘ready to sell’ Beto in the summer window.
Zapata has a deal until 2024 and has been on the Premier League side’s agenda for some time. It’s said Atalanta ‘have to deal’ with Everton interest in the Colombia international and ‘carefully evaluate the offers’ they will receive for him after this season.
In the event Sean Dyche’s side fail to secure the South American’s services, they would shift their focus to Beto, who is considered as an alternative to Zapata.
Everton are still in picture for Beto after a failed January attempt. The report says Udinese won’t keep the Portuguese attacker at all costs and ‘could sell him’ in the summer, if they were to receive a ‘suitable offer’.
