Inter Milan are in the picture to sign Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Stefan de Vrij, 33, Francesco Acerbi, 37, and Matteo Darmian, 36, have contracts expiring at the end of this season.
Therefore, the Serie A side are looking to improve their defence and have identified the Crystal Palace player as main target.
Guéhi is in his final year of contract and Oliver Glasner has confirmed he won’t sign an extension. The centre-back’s performances and contract situation make him an attractive option in the market.
Gazzetta report ‘everyone is crazy for Guéhi’, and this includes the Italian club. Their wish is to sign the 25-year-old on a free transfer next summer, but it won’t be easy.
That’s because Bayern Munich want him while Liverpool could make an approach for the defender again. The Crystal Palace star came close to joining the Reds before the move collapsed last summer.
Inter aren’t willing to get into a potential battle for the England international. To avoid this, the report explains they can try to sign him in January.
The Italian club could include Yann Bisseck as part of the operation for Guéhi. Gazzetta have made it clear this is only a suggestion for now.
Crystal Palace tried to sign Bisseck last summer but Inter rejected their advances. Recent claims from Italy have reported of the FA Cup winners’ interest in 24-year-old German for the winter market.
As well as Guéhi, Inter MIlan have Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano, Lazio’s Mario Gila, Udinese’s Oumar Solet and Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemović in their list.
