Several reports have made it clear that Mateta could be sold by Crystal Palace in this window as the Eagles plan for another season under Roy Hodgson.
A report in Italy yesterday claimed Genoa were interested in a potential deal for him but now Salernitana can be added to the mix.
He is looking for a new experience after a ‘bittersweet adventure’ with Crystal Palace in England and Salernitana are ‘courting him’, although they are not the only Italian side interested in a transfer.
At this point there is no mention of a transfer fee or talks with the Eagles so far, just an interest in the player and him being on their shortlist.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on nonetheless, with Italy seeming likely to be Mateta’s destination if he leaves Crystal Palace in the coming weeks.
