On Friday, Mundo Deportivo stated Brentford are willing to make an offer close to €30m for Real Betis’ Assane Diao. It was also reported the Andalusian club are aware of the Bees’ desire to sign him in the winter market.
The Premier League side have taken further steps in their efforts to secure the 18-year-old services.
That’s according to Saturday’s Diario de Sevilla, who state Brentford ‘make a formal offer’ for the winger.
The Spain U21 international’s deal lasts until 2027 and includes a €30m release clause. It’s claimed the proposal tabled by Thomas Frank’s side is close to this figure.
The newspaper highlights Real Betis president Ángel Haro García’s comments, where he said the club’s financial situation is “not critical, but delicate”. The attacker is a product of the Spanish club’s academy and his sale can help them make a profit.
He’s available in the market and a formal offer from Brentford has now arrived at Real Betis. The player has received a ‘top-level contract’ proposal from the Bees, and it’s claimed both he and Manuel Pellegrini’s side are studying the English club’s offer.
Diario de Sevilla say Real Betis could think of sanctioning the attacker’s sale to Brentford since they have a need to sell.
Diao has scored six goals from 22 games this season.
