Leeds United have endured something of a difficult season, and one of the few genuine bright points for the club, and specifically supporters, has been Willy Gnonto.
The Italy international has excited Elland Road and shown there’s a lot to come from him in the coming years. His attitude towards the club, his clear happiness at being there, and his interactions with the fanbase have all helped Leeds United’s support take him to their collective heart.
Therefore, should the Whites stay in the Premier League and still sell Gnonto there would be outrage at the Yorkshire club, and rightly so too.
This simply isn’t taken into account by the many Italian reports hyping a summer move to Serie A. On Sunday, Gazzetta dello Sport pushed Juventus forward again.
They state that if the Turin club sell Moise Kean, and if Leeds United complete a permanent deal for Weston McKennie, then Juventus would have the power to move for Gnonto.
According to the claims, they’ve already been in touch with the player’s agents, although there’s nothing concrete at this stage.
Gazzetta sound optimistic for Juventus, saying the club has a ‘solid’ relationship with Leeds United.
The claims in Italy continue to build and will no doubt be an irritant to fans of the English club.
