Villarreal would like to keep Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Yerson Mosquera at the club, the Spanish media says.
As newspaper El Periódico Mediterráneo today writes about the Yellow Submarine’s transfer plans, they claim manager Marcelino has asked the club to ‘make an effort’ to hold the player.
It’s said that Mosquera’s stay is a ‘priority’ for Villarreal this summer. The club are considering signing him from Wolves either on a new season-long loan, this time including an option to buy, or making a bigger investment by trying a straight purchase.
According to the outlet, there’s even a chance the Spanish club could try a cheaper deal by leaving a big percentage of a future sale to the Molineux side. That could be up to 50%, since their intention is to spend less than €10m on the transfer.
The report points out an important factor, which is the Copa América. If Mosquera does well for Colombia, Wolves are expected to receive other offers for him this summer.
In recent interviews, though, the centre-back made it clear he’d like to stay at Villarreal for another season.
