Feyenoord are considering a ‘serious approach’ for Southampton winger Samuel Edozie before the end of the window.
That’s according to FR12. The website reports that the Dutch club are monitoring the 23-year-old Southampton winger. External sources have told them a serious approach is being considered.
Edozie is a left-winger who can also play on the right wing, meaning Feyenoord could strengthen on two fronts.
They see Edozie as a player with development potential and residual value. His profile fits the type of attacker they often look for. He is young, dynamic and experienced at a highly competitive level after his time with Southampton.
He hasn’t played a single minute for the Saints this season, though. That’s partly due to competition and a hamstring injury. He is fully training and available now, though.
Discussions could now take place over a transfer. Whether that’s a loan or a permanent move remains to be determined. If it’s a loan, there’d also be a question of including an option to buy or not.
Edozie currently has several options on the table, both abroad and in England. Feyenoord may be one of them and they’re considering stepping forward and making a bid.
