According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are to step up their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to the Istanbul club in the past 24 hours, with Everton and Aston Villa also thought to have some interest.
Sabah today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Phillips at Manchester City, and they say Galatasaray are considering signing the player.
It’s been well documented in the Turkish press that they want to bring in a central midfielder this summer and they’ve been linked with a number of Premier League players in recent weeks.
The Turkish media outlet report Gala have now been approached by agents with regards to signing Phillips this summer. It’s reported the club’s directors are evaluating whether to sign the former Leeds United man and are considering making an offer.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will sanction the transfer as the player isn’t in his plans for next season.
Phillips has made just 31 appearances for the Premier League side since arriving from Leeds United two summers ago. He’s contracted until June 2028, and Manchester City will hope for a permanent way out of that deal.
