Despite not being in Gary Rowett’s plans going forward in the Championship, Giannelli Imbula remains a Stoke player, unable to find a club wanting his services.
Spending last season on loan at Toulouse, the midfielder struggled at first, but gained some consistency towards the second half of the season.
There was a brief period when he was strongly linked with a move to Levante following Bournemouth’s acquisition of Jefferson Lerma, yet that avenue seems to have gone quiet lately.
However, another club are now taking an interest, as L’Equipe claim Lille in France could still make a move for the former Marseille starlet before their transfer window shuts on August 31st.
Wanting a new midfielder as a priority this summer, the Ligue 1 side are yet to find their man, and are believed to have ‘considered’ the Stoke man, who would be interested in a move to the north of France.
So far, nothing has happened, but there’s still a good couple of weeks for Imbula to find himself an exit route, even if it is once again temporary.
