On Tuesday, we covered a story from Italy claiming that Milan had turned their attention to Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin.

The Frenchman, who was a star last season under Eddie Howe and started the first three games of the season, has seen his game time reduced since suffering almost back to back injuries.

Whether that is because Eddie Howe’s team are doing well without him or the manager is simply taking his time returning his star winger back into the team to ensure he doesn’t relapse isn’t clear, but his lack of game time has caught the eye of the Serie A side.

Following the claims from Italy, we now have them backed up in France, where Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna took to Twitter to reveal that there is indeed a ‘very concrete interest’ from Milan in Newcastle’s Saint-Maximin.

As things stand, no bid has been made, but it’s explained that the ‘possible offer to come’ would be a loan with an option to buy’.

There’s no mention of what fee Newcastle would be asking for nor whether they would be open to such a deal for the winger, but there will be more information on this coming soon, as promised by Aouna himself.
