According to A Spor journalist Ali Baransel, Fenerbahce are ‘closing in’ on signing Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
The Turkish giants have been linked with a move to the Argentine defender in the past couple of weeks, and initial reports from Turkey claimed Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli had reached an agreement with United over a loan move for the centre-back.
Baransel now says the player is ‘very close’ to joining the Turkish club.
Fenerbahce have made an excellent start to their campaign by beating Gazisehir Gaziantep FK by 5-0 yesterday, and the club are hoping to confirm a couple of arrivals before the transfer deadline to boost the team’s title chances.
Rojo’s ability to play both as a central defender and at left-back could be very important for Fenerbahce as the Turkish giants are lacking both quality and quantity at these two positions.
Former Sporting defender still has two years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, and has yet to feature under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.
