Despite Vanderson’s transfer to Brentford FC being labelled as ‘imminent’ by the Brazilian media at the start of the week, it’s now been a couple of days with no updates on the situation.

Still, the Bees’ fans should rest assured that the Grêmio player should be on his way to the Premier League, as the local press continue to be certain that the move is happening.

Globo Esporte today features a story saying the Brazilian club are losing the three full-backs they used most in 2021: those are Vanderson, Raphinha and Cortez.

Regarding the 20-year-old, it’s said the club are ‘close to selling’ him to Brentford, as there are ‘advanced talks’ for the move.

Even though Globo Esporte takes it a little easier now, we’ve seen this week several reports claiming there’s an agreement for the transfer.

Brentford are expected to pay an initial amount of €11m to land the youngster.

Vanderson had already been linked to the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur this year.

Grêmio’s relegation this month is one of the main factors why he and other teammates are leaving the club now.
