Everton forward Gerard Deulofeu’s possible transfer to AC Milan is slowly turning into a saga. On Friday, AC Milan announced a loan deal for the Spaniard on Twitter, before quickly deleting it.
However, Everton haven’t confirmed any deal from their side and AC Milan’s CEO, Adriano Galliani has revealed both the clubs are still negotiating over a potential deal.
“The negotiations are ongoing. I am authorised by the lawyer to say that and more I do not say,” Galliani told Premium Sport (via CDS).
AC Milan reportedly want to sign Deulofeu on a loan from Everton with an option to make it permanent in the summer. However, Barcelona have a buy back option on the Spaniard, which was agreed when he signed for Everton. Barcelona are happy to pass this up, having no intention of signing Deulofeu themselves.
The Spaniard has struggled to get enough playing time under Everton boss Ronald Koeman this season, despite injuries to other players. The 22-year-old has a contract until 2018 at Everton, and has been left out of the squad in the recent matches.
Calciomercato say Deulofeu will arrive in Milan today to have his medical, with the loan costing €750k. The original cost was €500k, perhaps Everton demanded extra because Milan refused a mandatory redemption clause.
