Torino chief Davide Vagnati has been in England in the last few days to finalise for West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic.
That’s according to La Stampa, relayed by Toro News, who say Vlasic is one of the Italian sides’ ‘main targets’ for next month.
They report that Vagnati is ‘now in a hurry’ to buy Vlasic, who has been shining at Torino since joining them on loan in the summer.
That deal includes a €15m purchase clause included in it and while Torino ‘have the priority’ on him, they cannot rest easy and need to move for him.
The objective is ‘reassure’ West Ham and secure him in advance of other competition joining the race and creating ‘dangerous auctions’ that could see them miss out on their number one target.
That has happened in the past and they want to avoid a repeat given Vlasic has been a key player since his arrival and completely revived himself under manager Ivan Juric’s leadership.
Hence Vagnati’s ‘mission’ to England to meet with West Ham and arrange a deal ahead of January when potential rivals could ruin their plans.
