RB Leipzig won’t let go of their Ademola Lookman dream, report Bild, which considering how good the German club are at sweeping up young talent probably suggests Everton should keep him.
Ralf Rangnick, manager and sports director, is said to be ‘fighting like a lion’ a to sign the young Englishman, which again sounds like a good reason for Everton to keep him.
Bild claim ‘transfer-poker’ has been going on for weeks between the two clubs. Leipzig like the player both for his footballing ability and character. It’s claimed that after a successful spell on loan at the club, Lookman also wants to return.
The problem is Everton and a reported €20m asking price.
Rangnick is quoted by Bild as saying: “Ademola Lookman is currently a player of Everton. He knows from his time with us, and also through the relationships he has built up with us, our appreciation for his quality as a player and as a person. We are in constant contact with his club.”
RB Leipzig are said to be against paying €20m, and it’s claimed Marcel Brands and Marco Silva rate the player and are planning a future with him.
If all of that is correct then it’s time for Everton to tell the German club to put the money up… or shut up and stop destabilising their player.
